Saving Journalism For Democracy. NeoJournalism Meetup is a social media resource for followers of the Bill Moyers' Vision of Journalism for Democracy. It is also a Fuller bridge for democracy and journalism, which means a technological solution/bridge to a significant social problem with historical resistance to meaningful positive change. This approach is modeled from one of the modern founders of social change: Buckminster Fuller. (ref: Walden Two) A Fuller bridge is any tech invention which in and of itself draws out positive societal change.
The greater the concentration of ownership of the media, new and old school, including ordinary everyday journalism venues, - the directly less the viability of the typical citizen as a voice in a meaningful, active democracy. That is to say, - typical citizen; there are no average citizens. There must be a movement, or array of movements to counter this dangerous over-concentration of mainstream, and not so mainstream media. This Group can be one nexus among many. Anyone who supports a free and open press in support of a free and open society is welcome to join this Group.
