Our vision: When people in our county experience conflict they know that Skagit Mediation Project is a place to go.

Our purpose: To help members that are facing the challenges, frustration, pain and consequences of experiencing conflict.  Listen to their stories and support them with alternatives that improve their present and future. In addition, we want to bring more awareness about mediation and alternative dispute resolution in our county

Conflict can originate within a couple, a family, the workplace, school, etc., and if not handled properly and at the right timing, can destroy relationships.

The organizers believe that regardless of the origin or type, we can assist our members by reviewing the process of conflict, the process of conflict resolution, and in developing skills that can improve the outcome,  minimizing the consequences, expenses, and the time and energy wasted in disputes.

Anybody in the area interested in exploring this important subject, developing better skills to handle conflict, or requiring  a professional reference can join. People from neighboring counties are also welcome.

Our group will include experienced members in mediation, that can answer questions, organize simulations, recommend specialized service providers, and deepen their understanding of conflict and its resolution.

Why should members join?

• They can understand and explore skills that will be conducive in solve disputes.
• They will find a place where they can get help to better cope and adapt to their current reality.
• They might meet others that are facing similar situations, and can provide and receive support.

We are planning to meetup in Mt Vernon twice a month, starting in September 2014.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
