We will start in Hawrelak Park at the location in the following link:

This link will direct you to a google maps with a place marker. You can zoom the map in and out and use it to see where you will be meeting us.

Starting Destination/ Meeting Point

>

To get to the starting destination, you enter the Hawrelak Park and follow the one way loop all the way around counter clockwise until you get to the destination (the most southern point of the driving loop).

There is a parking lot by a building with washrooms (there is a nice overhead visual when you click the second link). We can park there and meet on the grassy spot between the parked cars and the building. DO NOT FOLLOW THE "DIRECTIONS" that appear under the hike description in the first link.

If anyone is running late or lost just give me a call at [masked] and we'll sort ya out :)

Hope you can make it!

Hey Guys I got really busy there with a couple music festivals and camping, and I'm going camping again this weekend then I head back to Ontario for 2 weeks on the 12th So I may not have the time to plan another hike for a little while. Sorry guys! We gotta get at least another one or two in tho before the seasons over so I'll keep you posted.

Ya it sure was a great day for it! Shirley, next time :) I am going camping this coming weekend but before I go I plan on setting one up for the following weekend. I do have a friend in Grand Prairie that is building a deck and I promised I would help and I think it just may carry through that weekend, but I want to set one up and if I can't make it because of that I'll let you guys know and if you all still met up that would be awesome!

Sorry guys!! I had full intentions on going.. And was really looking forward to it. But something came up medically, and has thrown a wrench in my plans for the next few days. Hopefully all will be back to normal soon and I can plan another event with you all. Glad you had great weather for it!!

When you enter into Hawrelak park its a big one way loop. So you would drive straight and it bends to the left, you make your way about 3/4 the way around the loop, and on the right there is a building with washrooms. You can click the one link that says 'starting destination' and zoom in and get a better look. Its the big parking lot. If you end up driving past it and end up back where you started you went too far so just go back around again. We will meet up by the building.

Is this area clear of the flood waters yet? I had heard on the radio this morning (June 25th) that the North Sask was still flooded with many walkways and benches under water.

Hi Tammie, I've been hearing the same thing, and I'm not too sure yet. I will have to look into it and let everyone know. As for now it's still only Tuesday so lets stay positive and hope for the best :)

Does your group get together, rain or shine??
I'll attend and possibly bring a friend, depending on her schedule.

I will show up either way to see if anyone else does (unless its really bad). However there have been 2 times where it was wet and noone showed which is fine I understand. Up to you :)

I'm intereted in this hike, can I bring my children (she's 8 years old)?

    June 21, 2013

    • Andrew

Hi Aslinah, I was away camping for the weekend so sorry for the late reply. I'm going to say as long as your daughter wants to be there she should come. I just want to avoid the whining and complaining that sometimes come along with children, I'm sure you can understand. But ya if they enjoy hiking then we'd love to have them.
