Hi everybody, a few years ago, someone else started this group. I'm not sure she ever got it going, and then . .I got to chatting with some other people in the group, and posted three meetups, with the group leader's permission. The ride that was a huge success, was the Berkeley to Richmond Marina ride. At the time, I was traveling quite a bit, and couldn't commit to the group . .and it faded away. :*( And now, I hope to revive it. I'm interested in 'leading' some nice, easy going rides, for people available during the week. I thought I'd start with the Richmond Marina ride, see who shows up . . and take it from there. I live in Pinole, so with a little inspiration, hope to set up a nice ride from Pinole, along the Bay to Hercules, Rodeo, and Crockett, and back. Our name implies: everyone is welcome, no rider is too slow, we can go the distance, and it's all about enjoying the ride. ( . .but speaking of 'no rider is too slow', sometimes riders are too slow . .and this is what we do. On that first ride that a real pokey joins us, they are totally welcomed . .one of us will stay with them . .and them for upcoming rides . .we suggest modifications . ."leave earlier, meet us at the break place . . join us for coffee . ., " (I remember one new comer being very upset when she realized we would not slow the pace down every time she came.) But isn't that what 'meetup' is all about, "taking a chance to find your people"?
Please suggest times you are available, and rides, also. I am currently living in Albany, so am hoping for morning rides, (possibly afternoon rides), that don't involve too much driving or traffic . . that you would actually sign up for!
