Elbow Valley/Sulphur Springs Trails (T2 Winter Hike)

Distance: 10 km

Difficulty: Easy

Elev. gain: 300 meters

Time required: 3-4 hours

Dogs permitted: No

Directions: The hike starts at the Station Flats Parking area approximately 11 kilometers east of the intersection with highway 22 on highway 66.

Hike Description:

This is a trail that is a good hike for beginners although we will be hiking on ice and snow so ensure you have MICRO spikes or other traction device for your boots. We will be hiking at a Slow & Steady pace with time for breathers and photos. The hike rolls through a beautiful foothills setting where one can reach satisfying viewpoints that provide vistas of the Moose Mountain, Prairie Mountain & the Elbow River Valley. And of course coffe at the Cinnamon Spoon in Bragg Creek after is always a must

Gear Requirements:
Dress appropriately for the weather - warm clothing/layers - no cotton, no jeans
Hiking boots
MICRO spikes or other traction for your boots
Hiking poles
Bear Spray if you have it
Extra Snacks and/or Packed Lunch
Camera (optional)
Pack garbage out

Suggested passenger commuting costs: $10.00 for gas per person and in cash.

Waivers: As per the new policy for waivers; I will bring the group waiver form with me to both the Calgary Meetup location and the trailhead. You must sign it before you will be allowed to go on this hike. You will also be asked to provide the name and phone number of an emergency contact. You are fully aware that organizers are not professional guides and you assume all responsibility for your safety and well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit to do this hike with the group.
