Hike Description: If you love great views and are into a little scrambling this one’s for you. Mind you, for the first 2-3 kilometers you will have your nose to the grindstone getting up to the ridge. There are no switchbacks here as the trail goes straight up one of the ribs of Heart Mountain to gain the ridge. The ridge walk is highly rewarding although the hike out of the horseshoe can be a bit of a workout with snow and ice even more so. No one who hasn’t done at least several scrambles will be accepted on this trip. We will be hiking at a Slow & Steady pace with plenty of time for breathers and pictures.
Speed demons need not apply!
