Friday night hike--Nose Hill --

Lets get some exercise and go for a long walk around the park.

We will meet at the parking lot by the old radio tower (click on the map people and see which one)

If you have a limited amount of time be prepared to walk back to the parking lot on your own. If the weather is good we may be out 2-3hrs.

I suggest you bring a head lamp or flash light, warm clothes, a hat(gets windy up there), Micro spikes and at least 1 liter of water and snacks if you wish to go the full circle.

Good chance we will see deer as the evening progresses and great views of the city at night.

THIS HIKE IS WEATHER DEPENDENT AND WILL BE CANCELED IF TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW -12 C.

YES Dogs can come but please only on leash.

No Guests...your friends 18 and over must signup.

Waivers: As per the new policy for waivers, I will bring the group waiver form with me to both the Calgary Meetup location and the trailhead. You must sign it before you will be allowed to go on this hike. You will also be asked to provide the name and phone number of an emergency contact.

You are fully aware that organizers are not professional guides and by your R.S.V.P you assume all responsibility for your safety and well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit to do this hike with the group.

It was the best night up there yet. No wind and great clear views of both the city and the stars! It was great to see both Bunny and Lyle again and to meet two new members. Hope to see you all again.

An excellent Friday walk. The view of the city was beautiful and stars were brighter! I have not done a hike with my headlamp for quite a while. It was fun!

It was fun, Bunny! Really glad to be out with everyone who attended. Such a peaceful experience walking around in the dark and overlooking the city that's all lit up! :) And little to no wind... I hear that's very unusual for Nose Hill, so we were blessed last night.

I'm sure it'll be fine to join us, Gerrry. Just wondering though, is there anyone who is wanting to shorten the walk tonight? I'm unable to spend a full 2-3 hours with the group, so would need to head back earlier. Would someone walk back with me around 7:30 or so?

I'm a little late with response! Might there be a chance to join the group?

Oh darn - sorry, I now have to go and pick up an out-of-town visitor at the airport Friday evening. Next time I hope. Have fun. Kate

Don't have any micro spikes? Think I'll be O.K. without them?

If it is very icy up there on Friday you may slip. I recommend having some kind of traction device for your boots but it is not impossible to do this walk with just boots. You will have to decide how comfortable you are.
