I am planning a 4 night hike/camp into Mount Assiniboine, Saturday, July/20 and to finish on Wednesday, July24.We will start out at Mount Shark parking lot, and hike as far as McBrides backcountry camp. Then next day over Assiniboine Pass to Lk.Magog for 2 nights. There are several lakes that you can do days hikes from Lk. Magog. On Tuesday we hike over Wonder Pass aand walk along Marvel Lk.until we get to Marvel Lk. Campssite where we will overnight, then walkout back to our cars at Mount Shark.Total km.is about 53.The hiking path is wide and well maintained the only steep parts are thru the pass, which are not to bad even with a big pack.l have done this hike 2 times before the most recent in 2008.l have many years of backcountry camping experience and know exactly what works good for gear aand food and what doesn't.To go on this hike you have to be in good physical condition and be willing to carry a expedition pack which may weight 35-45 lbs. I wouldn,t suggest this for a beginners hike, but if you have the proper gear are fit its doable. If you need advice for gear and food email me thru the site or phone or text me at[masked]-3790.In the next few days l will post what you need to bring and what elevation we are looking at.The cost for this hike would be for 2 nights camping in Banff Nat.Pk. and 2 nights in Assinaboine Prov.Pk.plus food and gas cost.l will find out what the camping fees are and post later.
