Great group and view, although the strong wind almost blew us away. Thanks Candice and Karen for hosting it.

I am not going to attend today as I have a bit of a headache and think maybe it's better to not go. Sorry for the late notice.

I can not meet everyone at shouldice in the morning. I have asked George, Anne and Alison to help organize the car pool so meet them at the parking lot as usual at least 10 min before 8:30. I will see you all at the Wasootch Parking lot 9:30.

We will be in the sun most of the day and it is going to be a very hot with a UV index of 8 so bring your sunblock, lots of water, and maybe a hat. I will be bringing Karen, Maureen and Lorraine. See you there.

Woke up a couple days ago with the flu bug that's been going around. Not quite over it yet. Thinking I should back out now and give someone else the chance to go instead of waiting to see how I feel tomorrow morning. Have fun everyone.

Okay I am unable to make it for this hike. Dare you think that I chickened out after the cautionary note by Candice. It is a mothers day brunch in Calgary Zoo on Sunday and I cant say no to my wife specially after three consecutive hikes over the weekends (Sat, Sun, Sat). Mountains, ridges, heights, bears and cougars dont scare me but wifey, ooohhh.

I want to send out a note of caution. This is not a Beginners Hike. It has a very steep beginning, loose footing and there may or may not be snow, mud and slippery sections.
It is also a ridge walk.....ridges are not flat. We will be going up and down all day. This is not easy for someone who has not hiked before and should not be attempted as a first hike.

Candice you know my level of hiking from nose hill/stairs. Is this going to be too challenging? Last thing I wanna do is slow the group down. Thoughts ...

The email notice says this is next week, but this link says May 12. Which date is correct?

    April 13, 2013

    • Candice B.

May 12 is the correct one. Must be a glitch because I changed the date last week after doing the hike. There was still a lot snow up there.

Note: T4 to the cairn by avoiding scrambly bits. S6 after the cairn to the true summit.
