Great introductory hike for Hiking 101 Grads
Taking the trail to the right leads to a long gradual ascent through the forest to the half-way point of the loop where you can view Moose Mountain and the group of mountains surrounding Banded Peak. The return trip skirts the edge of a steep hillside overlooking the Ranger Station and the Elbow Valley. We may venture off trail on the way back down if so inclined or as Andy says "and beyond".
Hiking Pace:We will be hiking in a relaxed pace; this is for the safety, health and enjoyment of all hikers. We will be stopping for great views, photos, rest breaks and the occasional head count.
Hiker requirements:Good sense of humor, healthy enough to complete the hike and a desire to explore the natural environment.
