Hike to Twin Falls

I would like to invite all novice as well as experienced hikers to travel this trail to see one of the best sites in all of Yoho National park. This invite is especially for all those people I hiked with at Big Valley Springs on June 9th. There is a cafe/lodge available at the top that serves a LIMITED menu for anyone interested. You are advised that if you wish to patronize the cafe, it is CASH ONLY. One more note: since the place is runs by volunteers, the hours may be limited so just have a good lunch packed just in case.

This valley has so many waterfalls. Ideal hike if you love water. Had a great time. Thanks to clare for organizing and to Denise for the ride (especially back home)

Scenic hike with 3 waterfalls and the hanging glaciers ... lovely company. It was what I need for the weekend, re-energized for the weekday. Thanks Clare for organizing this hike

Three questions Clare. 1.)What is the cost for gas? 2.)Do we need to purchase a park pass? 3.) And lastly it looks like this is 17km, 240 meter elevation hike. Is that correct?

    August 17, 2013

    • Clare W

1.) last I checked. it is $25.00 for gas. If anyone has a park pass, I would go with them, If you cannot, it is $20.60 per group or about $5.00 per person. 3.) Here's the information you need about length of trail and altitude.: http://hikealberta.co....

I might have to change my RSVP. I really want to go, it sounds awesome, but I need to find out when we'll be back by (I play volleyball sunday nights and just found out my game is at 6 instead of 8).
Any estimates on when we'll be back to the city? If possible, please text me[masked]

The drive is 2.5-3hrs one way and the hike is 4-6hrs depending on how slow the group hikes and how long you linger at the falls. I would pick something closer to home and do twin falls another day.

Here's the link to the Twin Falls Chalet website: http://www.twinfallsc... of this trail is easy to travel. There are only 2-3 spots where there's steep climbing. Only one of them is lengthy.
