Bow Peak: T4/SC6 Moderate
Date: Saturday 31 August 2013
Meet up Location: Shouldice Arena, 1515 Home Road NW, Calgary
Meet up Time: 0630 AM

Bow Peak is located near Bow Lake on Hwy 93 (Columbia Ice Field Parkway)
approximately 30km from Lake Louise.

Round Trip Distance: 13.5 km

Elevation gained: 950 meters

Activity type:  Strenuous Day Hike/Moderate Scramble

Round Trip Estimated time:  6 to 8 hours on trail, plus 5 hours driving.

Driving Directions: We will drive West on Hwy 1 past Lake Louise and North on Hwy
93 (Columbia Ice Field Parkway) for approximately 30 km until trail head which is 500

Suggested Car Fare is $25.00 cash.

Activity description: Soon after leaving our vehicles we will ford the Bow River. We
will proceed along a well defined trail under the cover of trees until we reach crow foot
pass, from there we will start climbing to the summit. This portion is very steep and will
walk over a talus field until the false summit. From here, it is a rather easier ridge walk to
the true summit.

NOTE:  If Bow River is too deep to ford, we will move to Observation Peak trail head and conduct this trip.

Good morning, I'm very interested in joining this hike in case any new spots open up. It says that RSVPs are closed but if a spot opens up, please let me know! : )

Sorry, I did this hike last year and I thought this trip will follow the normal route. I see now that you require helmets, so probably you want to ignore the easy route.
