Bourgeau Lake offers a variety of alpine and subalpine scenery.It waters are boardered by alpine fir and larch stands meadows and barren talus slopes. at the 5.5 km. mark you pass by Wolverine Creekand and a cascading waterfall.Once you reach the lake we will decide as a group if we want to go the 2.2km.to Harvey Pass above the lake.
Total Distance=15km return to the lake and another 2.2 one way to the pass.If we do the pass also it would bring it up to 19.4km.return.Total elevation is 725M plus another 310M to the pass.This will a full day hike,so come prepared not to get back early to the city.We will stop at Canmore or Deadmans Flats for supper on the way back.
What to bring.
Your backpack with 2 liters min. water,lunch and plenty of snacks,good hiking boots,poles if you use them ,bear spray,warm jacket and rain coat.Members only,no dogs.no running shoes or jeans or cotton clothing.If you have any concerns about gear or this hike you can contact me thru the site or text or phone me at[masked]-3790.We will forn a carpool at Shouldice depending on how many people show up.Please bring cash for your driver if you are riding.Please make sure you are physically capable of doing this hike.The Canadian Rockies Trail guide explains the hike in detail.We will hike at a moderate pace with plenty of stops for snacks and water breaks.No speed demons please.
