Taylor Lake/O'Brien Lake/Panorama Meadow T3

Distance: 20+ km.......Elevation: 650+ m.......Duration: 8 - 9 hours + driving

Difficulty Rating: T3 Trail Rating System

To include those who would like to join us for the day and add an upgrade to the original plans we've opened it up to present Option A and Option B...

Option A with Barb will include a hike / scramble up Panorama for a panorama view of the valley's below. The plan is to  hike up the trail to Taylor Lake, then head Northwest into a Larch meadow. Then keep heading Northwest to gain Panorama Ridge. This section will require route finding and some moderate scrambling to gain the ridge and continue going to the top of the North peak of Panorama Ridge.

Option B with Paul will be the Larch March Hike to witness the changing of the guard from the green of summer to the gold and auburn of autumn. From O'Brien Lake we'll hike back into Taylor and from there on to Panorama Meadows.

What to bring: 2 - 3 liters of water plus snacks and lunch...hiking boots...appropriate clothing  BE PREPARED for sun, rain, snow, wind...Bear Spray...First Aid Kit

$25 cash for gas (paid to driver at end of the day) and $5 for Park Pass.

I may opt to go with Paul today, instead of doing the scramble. As I'm coming from Canmore with Caroline Bees, I will meet you at the trailhead at Taylor. The scramble rocks on Panorama Ridge are treacherous when wet, and if it's going to rain, I'm not putting myself on rock terrain I've already done and know what it's like when wet. Also, if Barb is going to go briskly, as she indicates she will, that simply won't work for me. I am endurance-based and not fast uphill. After leading trips for years with the CSMC, I know what works well for me, and moving fast uphill through wet rock won't work. See everyone there.
