Well, you had fun for sure :( I don't know why I hate to go out if I have no views, and forget that the most important part are the people; the views are a bonus.

At least you sawed the blades off. :)

Well, I also attached to them the carbide tip the usual poles have. 3 weeks ago I swam through King's Creek and the poles failed to stop my fall. Not only that, the broken pole was close to act as a spear. It's just too many features for 120 bucks. :)

it was slow, steady, strange, surprising, sliding, skidding, soaking, sexy... and finally we have learnt how to use an ice axe and what it is for -- to clean one's icers or to sway mosquitoes away! :) Soaking in the Hot spings and a nice meal with the wonderful group of friends was awesome. Thank you Jessica and Jerome for a fantastic day!!!

    Warnings
    City of Calgary
    3:29 PM MDT Friday 01 November 2013
    Snowfall warning for
    City of Calgary issued

    Heavy snow this weekend.

A low pressure system off the Pacific coast is set to move into Alberta Saturday bringing heavy snow to central and southern parts of the province. Snow will start along the Rockies early Saturday and spread eastward throughout the day and continue into Sunday. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres are expected with locally higher amounts possible. There is still some uncertainty with the track of the system at this time. As such warned areas may be adjusted as the low nears.

Also, ahead of the snow there will be a chance of patchy freezing rain over some parts of Southern Alberta Saturday morning.

So far everyone selected indicated they would be attending hot springs and/or dinner. If you don't want to go to Hot Springs that's no problem, you can wait in Banff & shop etc. while we soak. If you don't want to go to Banff after hiking, please update RSVP to no. Thanks!

Please respond and let me know if you are driver or passenger.

    Thx.

Could a cold river be a suitable alternative to the hot springs?

Yes, I always read. Hope you don't go as fast as to do Castle Mountain. Yes, but I remained without poles; have some hockey sticks instead. No hotsprings, but I can wander around Banff; yes to dinner.

Awesome... I can't wait to see you hiking with hockey sticks. You and Luz can window shop while the rest of us take in the Hot Springs.
