Grass Pass Area - Hike

Grass Pass Area ( Hike)

Distance: 10 - 12 km

Elev. gain:[masked] meters

Time required: 5 - 6 hours

Directions:  Take Highway 541 West from Longview to the Sentinel Campground.

Difficulty Rating: OT3

Hike Description: The pass offers great views north down Wileman valley and across to Holy Cross Mountain. The sunny south-facing aspect of this trail means that it is usually dry when many other trails in the area are still snowbound. This is not an easy hike but we will be taking breaks and time to enjoy the views. After the hike we will stop at the Longview Pub for a well deserved beverage.

Gear Requirements:

Dress appropriately for the weather -
Hiking boots
Hiking poles
Icers
Extra Snacks and/or Packed Lunch
Water
Camera (optional)
Pack garbage out

Suggested
passenger commuting costs: $20.00 for gas per person and in cash.

Waivers: As per the new
policy for waivers; I will bring the group waiver form with me to both the
Calgary Meetup location and the trailhead. You must sign it before you will be
allowed to go on this hike. You will also be asked to provide the name and
phone number of an emergency contact. You are fully aware that organizers are
not professional guides and you assume all responsibility for your safety and
well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit
to do this hike with the group.
