Shark Lake Snowshoe and 'cause it's my birthday stop at Woody's after!!!

Distance 8KM return and less than 100 meters of elevation gain but there is a lot of potential to go off trail and if the weather is good we will be playing!!

Shark Lake also known as Marushka Lake lies in a valley between Mount Shark and Tent Ridge. The access is from the Smith Dorrien Road. Turn onto the Mount Shark road to a parking area on the right 1.8 km up the road. (not a real parking lot just on the side of the road if you get to the turn off for the helicopter pad you have gone to far)

Gear recommendation:

• Snowshoes, kind of hard to snowshoe without them.

• Warm waterproof boots

• appropriate winter clothing piled on in layers so you can de-layer as required should be quick/easy drying breathable clothing(Try to avoid cotton especially jeans)Gaiters would be appropriate to keep the snow out of your boots

• Food and water for the day.(something hot like soup, tea, hot chocolate...granola bars freeze)

I am not a guide so everyone coming should do their homework and be able to help in navigation. (or help get us lost)

Suggested car pool fare is $20.00/passenger

Hi everyone, it is going to be a little colder tomorrow but fingers crossed we will get sunshine.
We leave at 9 am tomorrow so please be at the parking lot a few min early so we can work out the car pooling. See you all in the morning! :)

Thank you for pointing that out Rick. It is a snowshoe and fingers crossed it will be through lots of deep fluffy snow.
