NORTH BRAGG LOOP(beginner hike)

This is a loop around North Bragg Creek Hill that takes you to a ridge with veiws. It combines a snow shoe trail with a section of logging road that is used in winter only. This would be a excellant beginner hike because its only 8.1 km. long with only 198M of elevation.Early wildflower colours should be excellant. It starts out from the West Bragg Creek parking lot, which for those of you who want to drive directly there you follow the West Bragg Ck. sign from the village, head along Balsam Ave. and cross the bridge over the Elbow river. At the T- Junction turn left and head straight west until you dead end at the West Bragg Ck.parking lots. Park at the far side of the lot.I will be leaving the the A+W at 4P.M.,so anyone needing a ride we can carpool from there. Please indicate on the comments if you will meet at the A+W or the trail head.If your coming on C-train to Somerset LRT text/phone and I will pick you up on the way out from A+W

What to bring:

Your packpack with snacks and water and any other hiking equipment you use.,such as poles ,bug and bear spray. If you have any questions or concerns please email me thru the site or contact me by text/phone at 403/818/3790.After the hike we will stop in Bragg Creek for well earned meal/beaverage and talk of hikes of past and hikes we want to do.PLEASE BRING RUNNERS/SANDELS WITH A PLASTIC BAG TO CHANGE FROM YOUR WET/MUDDY HIKING BOOTS.

The hike is still a go unless it turns really ugly in the next 2 hours. If l do cancel will do so before 2 p.m.If it stays like this we should be ok,since we will be in heavy trees most of the time protected from the wind.If we all get out there and it is really pissing rain l guess we could all go to the pub for supper and turn it into a social meeting, either way its a win-win.

  • P. L.

How long probably will it take for walking? Are hiking boots mandatory ?

    1 · June 23, 2014

    • wayne

Probably walking for about 2-2.5 hrs you could wear something other than hiking boots but you could get your feet wet with all the rain we had

      June 23, 2014

    • P. L.

      Thank you Wayne.

    June 19, 2014

Might be a good idea to wear gaiters on this hike, could be some wet low spots with all the rain we been getting.

    June 19, 2014

  • wayne

We should be at the Trailhead by 4:45-5p.m.Dogs welcome.
