Hey all you "newbies" and anyone who needs a refresher. This will be a discussion and presentation on all things hiking. If you are new to hiking you'll want to attend.
We'll be discussing all sorts of hiking topics such as:
Why we Hike
Trip Ratings
Hiking books, guides and maps
Preparing for hiking
Hiking etiquette
Hiking Gear

and more

plus Q and A

There will be plenty of group involvement and hands on participation. It definately won't be a boring classroom type setting.

Everyone attending will recieve a DVD and hiking lists etc.

The seminar is being offered through The Slow and Steady Adventures Co. There is a $20 per person charge to help cover the cost of the room and materials plus refreshments.

This was an extremely informative and helpful seminar. Andy is friendly, easy-going and experienced. A great combo for a teacher. I would definitely recommend it to any newbies. DDP

Wow that was such a great first meetup! I learned so much and felt very comfortable interacting with everyone there, and Andy and Paul were both very helpful and knowledgeable about hiking and backpacking! It was really nice to meet everyone and make friends with you all! See you on the trails hopefully very soon!!!

This was an excellent and informative evening. High 5 to both Andy and Paul. They created an environment where everyone felt comfortable to ask a question. I have been hiking/backpacking > 20 years; however, I learned a lot at the seminar. Afterall gear always changes, and becomes more efficient, and that is the kind of information that I really value. Most of all, thanks so much to Paul and Andy for devoting their time to teach us. Cheers, hope to see you on the trails. Linda

When your pastime becomes your passion you have found your place and when you can included new friennds you have found a place of belonging. Being 'out there' and sharing the experience with others is what Slow and Steady is really all about for me. Glad to meet each of you and look forward to sharing the trail together.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
