I can usually do either weekend or weekdays. I have a varying schedule so usually can often be flexible. It just depends on kids, clients, and courses. I welcome switchbacks, soon I may be ready for scrambles. I also love to bike, snowshoe, toboggan, or ski, both styles: Alpine; formerly a double black skier, (before life got in the way), Cross Country; a beginner with being much faster on the downhill). I'm so happy to get outside! and I'm happy to be able to help with coordinating events. I live just west of the city, so would prefer carpool spots on the westside edge of the city.
I've doing hikes in the moderate category, based on the choices listed. Over the years I've done many hikes in AB and BC, in the National and Provincial Parks. Glacier, Roger's Pass, Yoho, Drumheller, Banff, Jasper, Kootney, K-country... I used to hike with my Family, who are still in BC with little kids, and my Aunt (90), who is in Calgary but she has really slowed down now. I've been with an outdoor club since '07, and have not found enough slowpoke friendly hikes. I'm faster on the flats and downhill bits. I enjoy the views and time outside, so I appreciate a relaxed pace. I like to stop and take pictures and have a leisurely lunch with with good company. If there is food sharing, plus maybe just a wee tipple, (must keep our heads and feet working properly after all) and laughter it's all the better. (:
Absolutely!! Have read it, signed it, will sign again, and will bring it for others to sign to. :)
Very glad to find my kind of hikers!! This is great getting to know more of the trails and so many wonderful people!
Great group of people.
