About Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Inc:
Meetings are autonomous and self-governing. If you attend one and don't like it, start your own! You'll see a free online meeting listed here to help you do just that in cooperation with your local chamber or other group.
Our founder John Wren facilitates two model groups each Friday afternoon: the new 2:30 p.m. Denver Z-NOS Open Discussion Meeting and the 3:45 p.m. IDEA Cafe Startup Workshop each Friday afternoon, both are held at 13th & Grant here in Denver, just a block from the Capitol..
The model IDEA Cafe follows the format used for nearly 20 years, we share startup experience and brainstorm. If we are successful you'll be too busy to come back for it the next week.
What's your story? Z-NOS Meetings are open or closed, the model group is open to everyone. A communication campfire, you're welcome to share a story, poem, joke, we learn and have fun at the same time. What we have in common, we aren't yet earning what we should be making.
Our purpose is to help each other do Good Work, to help each other as we start in a new direction with our work, starting a new project or campaign, a new business, or a new career.Good Work or a Good Living creates a good income, delights customers, and provides an opportunity to learn and grow.
All groups are autonomous and self governing.
Walk-ins welcome, no RSVP required.

Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
Since 1994, I've organized groups to share startup experience, information and ideas. 5280 Magazine says we've "infused Denver with an entrepreneurial spirit."
People who've watched me organize and facilitate weekly IDEA Startup Cafes for nearly 20 years, never charging, have ask me, "John, why do you do this?" So my grandkids have the opportunity to own a business that Pop had in 1949.
Now we've formed the Small Business Chamber to strengthen the grassroots in business. And we now help people form IDEA Startup Salons, based on what Ben Franklin did with his friends in 1727. When the time is right, will you help us in this mission? Can we help you now? Let's talk!

Want to create a Good Living for yourself and others? Just Start!
What is a Good Living? Some call it Good Work or Right Livelihood.
Of course making money is part of it. But it also means we have leisure time to be a good neighbor, family member, citizen and friend.
A Good Living also means that we are growing and learning from what we are doing, the work is not just drudgery.
At it's core, a Good Living means that we are of real help to our customers, that we are engaged in providing a useful and necessary product or service that delights our customers who make repeat purchases and referral their family, friends and business associates to us.
If you sincerely want to make a Good Living, maybe we can help you, and then you in turn can help others to continue your own growth.
Join us when you want a boost as you start in a new direction with a new career, new project or campaign, or a new business!
Each IDEA Startup Group and Workshop is independent and self-governing. We'd love to help you start a new group!
Why IDEA? We take our name from a 4-step business creativity model many have found useful here over the past 20 years: I= Inspiration or Identify the Target; D= Develop Alternatives; E= Evaluatie the Alternatives; and A= Act! (Developed by John Wren and a consultant from the University of Denver for the local Bell (AT&T) operating company in the late 70s.)
We cooperate with local chambers and others to organize these workshops and Franklin Circle Peer Advisory Groups (For more, Google "How to Start A Franklin Circle.")
Since 1994, our IDEA Startup Workshops have invited speakers to share their career, business, project, and political startup experience and we share ideas. We've used Meetup.com to communicate about IDEA Cafes and to take RSVPs since 2005, we are now also using it as a tool to identify leaders of new groups and to help them get started with autonomous, self-governing groups.
Since 1994, we've heard from people such as: Dan Brogan, 5280 Magazine; Jared Polis, entrepreneur and U.S. Representative; Kenton Kuhn, Black-tie; Paul Lewan, Lewan & Associates; John Brackney and Joe Blake from the South Metro and Denver Chambers of Commerce; and hundreds of others.
IDEA Cafe Workshops are free or low cost and open to all, we just ask that you bring your brain for the brainstorming, you'll help others as you get help.
Illustration: "Boone" was designed by Walt Disney for the University of Denver, which used it for decades before they officially abandoned the image in 2013. D=Develop Alternatives in IDEA. Chancellor Robert Coombe has told us the University has abandoned the logo, lots of others are using it too, so it's not exclusive with us.
Boone is our #1 IDEA Pioneer which is what we call our members.
For nearly 20 years IDEA Cafe Startup Workshops have helped people to make a Good Living who are starting down a new path with a new project or campaign, a new career or new business. Let us help you!
5280 Magazine says we've "infused Denver with an entrepreneurial spirit."
The Denver IDEA Startup Cafe , led personally by our founder John S Wren, is now held each Friday afternoons, and it serves as the model for new groups, we hope to inspire the formation of 10 to 12 similar groups across Colorado in cooperation with local chambers of commerce, local community newspapers, and others.
If you'd like to start a group in your part of Colorado, please let us know.
Inspiring the formation of these autonomous, independent, self-governing IDEA Cafe Startup Workshops is a project of your Small Business Chamber of Commerce, which is available to help local chambers of commerce and others who want to organize new groups.
