Small Business Advocates of Ohio is a nonpartisan organization that promotes small business public policy and supports pro-small business candidates.
SBAO believes that the future of wealth and productivity (economic growth) will primarily come from ordinary individuals (from different classes, creeds, religions, ethnicity and gender) enganging in commercial activities for profit. This is entrepreneurism - grassroots level. Entrepreneurs create jobs and work for third parties; and jobs and work provide food and shelter (and healthcare) for loved ones and families. SBAO envisions public policy that supports entrepreneurial activities and thus promotes job creation and opportunity. Our future is through our sole proprietors and microbusinesses, including home based busineses.
Our current economic model was built during the Corporate/Industrial Age. Hallmark policies such as social security, workers compensation, unemployment compensation and our labor and employment laws must come under scrutiny in this new environment, where today's workforce is a highly educated, technically skilled and transient.
For the last century, Big Government, Big Business, Big Labor, and Plaintiff's Lawyers have been the beneficiaries of public policy. In this new environment, public policy must work for the entrepreneur.
Small Business Advocates of Ohio serves entrepreneurs and small to medium size businesses throughout Ohio, including Columbus, Ohio, and the surrounding communities of Dublin, Powell, Westerville, Worthington, Hilliard, New Albany, Gahanna, Grove City, Upper Arlington, and Bexley; and the counties of Franklin, Delaware, Licking, and Fairfield. They also assist clients throughout all of Ohio, including Cincinnati and Dayton and throughout the United States of America.
