This meetup group is for people who enjoy going to smaller theaters - rather than the larger venues where most seats are so far from the stage that you have to imagine the actors' expressions!

Everyone buys their tickets separately, although the entire group also meets before the play to have a meal together, and often goes for coffee afterwards as well. But no problem if you just want to meet up for the play itself sometimes - that's fine too!

While suggestions from group members are always welcome, please understand that we can only act on a small fraction of them: all events must be hosted by a group organizer, and we each have a limited amount of free time plus there are always many plays we already want to see ;-)

However, we're always looking for new assistant organizers, provided they are familiar with how the group works. So if you would like to become an assistant organizer - and have attended at least a couple of events - please email us via the website and let us know!

For our own sanity, and to avoid 'spamming' our members, we do not accept suggestions from non-members, OR promote plays we're not going to see as a group, OR allow group members to email the entire group! However, if you have an event you'd like to promote, or if you would like to offer STELA members a discount, here's how to do it:

(a) Sufficient INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT including a link to your website.

(b) HOW MUCH any discount will be.

(c) Details of HOW PEOPLE CAN OBTAIN the discount. Acceptable: a discount code for online purchases, or some way to obtain the discount in person at the venue. **NOT ACCEPTABLE**: paypal or other personal payments to you.

(d) **VERY IMPORTANT** If you are offering a better discount (fees included) via Goldstar, LA Stage Alliance, plays411, etc. YOU MUST INCLUDE THIS INFORMATION. While many people may wish to purchase directly from you regardless (and thus give more money to the production), we just want to make sure members aren't misled into thinking they're getting the best deal through you/STELA.
