Thank you for attending our first event and for the wonderful feedback. It was great to meet many of you and I look forward to meeting more of you at our next meetup! The caliber of our members is truly impressive and you all had a hand in making the first meetup a success. So a big pat on the back to all the members! The group is always evolving and we will definitely work to better the events with every meetup.
Kudos again to Guy Ravine and Randy Sprague for sharing their insight as well as eyeCam for sponsoring!
If you have any ideas for future speakers and sponsors please let me know.

Pretty good first meetup. Liked the food. Randall Sprague's presentation was awesome. The rest of the presenters seemed to be afraid of the microphone... I was in the back and could barely hear anything.

I agree that that the meeting organization could have been better: an agenda; working mike; speakers better prepared. But the GG insights were very useful (and frightening).
Food was excellent; many thanks to our hosts.
Randall Sprague's chat was serendipitous. Without it I would have gone away very disappointed.
My big takeaway was that if GG isn't up to AR today (or ever), GG may handle lesser apps at any moment in the then current user reality: capturing input of image/voice now for later processing (think diary/journal); prompting the user with output of image/voice relevant to the current environment (think ads and referrals). GPS Location is essential for both.

Great meetup - especially for being the first one! Awesome location, great food, great speakers, some tech glitches, but have you ever gone to a presentation where there isn't at least one tech glitch? The one question that I would like to see answered (perhaps in a future meetup) is, what is the right amount of AR? The presentations all focused on Google Glass not being AR and various companies' solutions to creating AR; but, do people really want 100% AR? The feedback I've heard from users of Glass is that they like the fact that the display is on the periphery of their vision so they can see notifications and quickly check status without it being always on. I think the question of how much AR is enough/too much needs to be answered before investing too much effort into developing AR apps. Seriously, does anyone actually use layar? Now, imagine having layar constantly in your FOV. I think it would be enough to drive you crazy!

Excited to see how many folks are attending. Though I'm unable to attend, I am interested in speaking with any development folks and potential co-founders interested in working with me using this technology for social gaming & other social apps. Please contact me -- melloville2010 at gmail dot com. Thanks again!

Hey meetup crew, we finally got everything in line for the first meeting. It's going to be a great time with lots to learn and see so I hope everybody can make it. We will announce all the details shortly so keep hanging in there. Also I am opening it back up since the venue will allow more people.

How about Parisoma in SF? They can hold lots of people and are very close to Bart and Metro lines.

Venue update coming shortly please stay tuned. We're evaluating a couple of spaces and just want to make sure it's the best choice for the group. In order to get an accurate count please cancel your reservation if you DO NOT plan on attending. We will open it up to more reservations if the venue allows for it. Also, as always if you have ideas for speakers, sponsors, or venues please comment here or contact me directly.

Almost there with the venue for the first meeting. If everything goes as planned I should be able to open up it back up for more people to attend. Going to be a great time you won't want to miss so mark your calendars! Please send me any leads for sponsors or venues as we can always use more options for future meetings etc. Also looking for people that want to present about anything related to smart glasses.

Dear Everyone re: "wish it could be in" comments..
1) you've been asked to *actually help locate* a venue for this new group so we'll have more options
1) a venue/sponsor is in the works yet any contacts at Yelp or Google will help provide further options as employees need to request meeting space reservation
3) Our organizer has already gone to the extra effort -uncommon if you've been around meet-up's a while- to democratically establish our groups' preferences via the online poll link below so its numerically established *what everyone thinks about preferred locations already*
[February 4th showing a 2:1 preference for SF locations over South Bay]
- therefore IMHO -
4) perhaps adding anything new or original about Smart Glasses technology, App's or development itself would be more useful, interesting and/or productive than further such meet-up location comments.
Thanks much and look forward to seeing you wherever we end up!
