ABOUT: The Pizza Place on Noriega
Two friends from Boston, David Ashin and Kevin Baryza , who cooked around town in such kitchens as Acquerello, Farallon, Globe, Brunos, Fish and Blue Plate, missed the pizza from their childhood, so they decided to make their own. They worked at a pizzeria together in high school and moved to California together at the age of 18 to attend culinary school. The chef/owners, who both live nearby, opened The Pizza Place on Noriega because they wanted to serve their community and make it a gathering place for all.
Kevin’s wife, Cindy who manages the restaurant and keeps the business running previously worked at such spots as Stars, Vertigo, Farallon, The Slanted Door and Garibaldis. The team collectively brings 45 years of experience to the table
The Pizza Place on Noriega has beers on tap, crispy East Coast Style pizza, and Yelp says they are a favorite with Vegetarians, so everyone should be able to find something they like.

THEN.......................................................................Riptide! Whoever is up for it!
The Riptide is the Bay Area's best little honky-tonk by the beach. Located in the Sunset District of San Francisco it was built in 1941 and has the look and feel of a small town lodge. In addition to rustic brick flooring and high ceilings, the original knotty pine walls and raging fireplace add warmth you can feel as soon as you step inside.
The Riptide opens daily at 4 P.M. If you’re looking for a casual atmosphere and a conversation or two with the local neighbors, stop by for Happy Hour from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. featuring honest drink specials.
Enjoy some of the best touring and local music acts including bluegrass, jazz, blues, solo acoustic, and country. Check the calendar for events or just wander in anytime.
The Riptide also boasts of having the best bar staff in the Bay Area, one of which is the *world’s strongest woman, and voted best fireplace and jukebox. It's only 20 minutes from the heart of San Francisco, one block away from the Pacific Ocean, a half a block from public transportation with plenty of free parking.
Smokers, check out the outdoor smoking lounge with an ocean view, just watch out for the L-Taraval...
It was about 1 year ago in November that I was sitting with my laptop and decided to stay home rather than go hang out with my man AL and all of his guy friends for a football game. I had just moved to the neighborhood and was looking around on Meetup.com. I did not see any women's groups that fit my age. I decided to go out on a limb and create a group that fit women in the 30's and 40's in the Sunset area, and now we have all of you fabulous members 1 year later! Thank you for your participation, and I hope to see you at The Pizza Place on Noriega!
