Let's go shoot some amazing Manitoba history with a road trip to Lower Fort Garry, with a stop along the way at St. Andrews-On-The-Red Anglican Church, and lunch at Skinners in Lockport! The historical buildings at Lower Fort Garry will be open for the season, complete with interpreters, for our photographing pleasure. And St. Andrews-On-The-Red Anglican Church is AMAZING for photographs...I have one below that I took last year. And who can resist a Skinners burger??
How's this for a plan? We'll meet at the Tim Hortons at 2500 Main Street (North Main, just past Chief Peguis Trail...if you need a ride there leave a note below...perhaps someone will be nice and help you out!) at 10a, then get organized with meetup fees and carpooling (and grab a coffee, of course). We can leave vehicles there while we're doing our thing with no issues...just park a bit further away from the building. We'll leave at 10:30 SHARP and head up to St. Andrews-On-The-Red Anglican Church. Spend some time tooling around there, then head further north to Skinners in Lockport for lunch. From there (about 12:30-ish) we'll continue on our way to Lower Fort Garry....spend a few hours there doing some learning and photoing, then head back to the city by 4, 4:30 at the latest. How's THAT grab ya?
There's no entrance fee for St. Andrews-On-The-Red Anglican Church, of course...at Lower Fort Garry, for adults it's $7.80. You'll pay the entrance fee when we get to Lower Fort Garry...you'd pay me the $2 meetup fee at the Tim Hortons before we leave.
