Join us Saturday, September 21st for another beautiful hike.
**Important Note** YOU MUST BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITION TO DO THIS HIKE. IT IS A MODERATELY CHALLENGING HIKE BECAUSE OF ALL THE ROCKS. PLEASE HAVE THE RIGHT SHOES AND TREKKING POLES OR HIKING STICKS. PLEASE BE PREPARED.
Departure Time: 9am

***BBQ at my place afterwards. Potluck. Rain or shine. I will provide meat, everyone else can bring side dishes.
Carpool location: IGA parking lot (old Red Apple) in Granite Falls
Roundtrip: 5.4 miles long (2.7 one-way)
Elevation Gain: 2200 ft Highest Point: 5324 feet
Passes: National Forrest Pass
Features: Wildflowers/Meadows, Mountain views & Summits
Type of gear needed: Layers, trek poles, bug spray, sunscreen & lots of water.
Cost: Depending on how many people go, gas and pass can be shared.
From Granite Falls follow the Mountain Loop Highway east. One mile beyond the Verlot Public Service Center, turn right onto graveled Forest Road 42 immediately after crossing the "Blue Bridge." Drive 7 miles to the trailhead at the road end (elev. 3100 ft). Privy available.
