Chris Kringle V and Airsoft Swap Meet

$10 entry fee (Paintball Station) *plus* a new toy (worth $10).

Addenum: Our most sincere apologies for the short notice about the field change. Personal (real-life) situations have contributed to this mishap. After all, we are volunteers who dedicate our free time to bring this amazing sport to the people.

This game is the *official* Chris Kringle event. Let's keep up the Christmas spirit and bring a smile on a kid's face.

Here's a song to get into the Christmas spirit (our younger players may not even know it)... ;)

There has been a big sniper qualification demand and FYI P.R.A.T. is holding one on JAN 25, 2014:

Great, had too much fun. My only gripe is that engagement distances could have been followed a bit more with/from the Candy Cane members.

    2 · December 22, 2013

    • Jawz

MEDs (minimum engagement distances) are there for SAFETY reasons -- whether you are a juggernaut or not!!! Remember that juggernauts are putting their skin on the line so that all the rest of you can have fun! Please respect that! We are not interested in having people injured!

You all knew that the Candy-canes were invincible so it would have been only smart of you to pull back and avoid them and not draw attention to yourselves. The gun is only as good as the owner. ;)

      December 25, 2013

    • LoneWolf62798003 [.

While I didn't say anything about distances (to keep them or disregard them, it wasn't mentioned) I did tell a group of people who were willing to deliberately make the juggernaut miserable so they'd drop their cane. And I did reflexively engage too close on one instance in the first round. Though the intent was to make the candy cane people give up, being dangerous wasn't part of the plan.
Kinda hilarious how tough grinches first jugernaut was.

I think I should post my AAR now before I forget :P
Great game. Had lots of fun for my last Chris Kringle. Loved being the juggernaut basically the entire first game. Went through about 11 mid caps just that first game. The only con I have was the aiming at the face and being shot at 15 feet repeatedly. I was shot in the face pretty much the entire game. I'm fine with goggle and helmet shots but once you start aiming for areas on the head that aren't covered by goggles or a helmet, it's not cool. Also lost my voice today because of the scalding I gave the guy that gave me a good 5 second burst at 15 feet. Overall, good game. I'll be a juggernaut any time x)

Did anyone find a thunder b with a pineapple shell? I lost one and don't know where it went

    December 22, 2013

  • LoneWolf62798003 [.

The candy cane thing was total garbage. It completely ruined the flow of the game, causing this juggernaut feature to be the sole focus of the game instead of boxes and flags. The zombie baby was good to have. So is a durable santa. The field was wonderful, glad it was selected.
Players: spare batteries or a portable charging method. One or the other, its a must. Hence why I brought two guns.

    December 22, 2013

    • Tristan F.

The purpose of the juggernaut was to keep the game moving. If there was no juggernaut, then whoever got the towers would have owned the game and would have turned into a stalemate. If the juggernaut was on one side, move to the other. It was pretty simple.

    Ladies and gentlemen:

Thank you all for coming to OP Chris Kringle 5! The weather was quite gracious with us, and the temperatures were not too bad either. Lots of targets, lots of welts (a big "thank you" to all our Candy-men and our Candy-girl "Peaches")!

I just uploaded over 200 photos. There were some players (all newbies!) with non-sanctioned eye protection, and we will be much stricter next time: All eye pro MUST BE SEALED! Shooting glasses are NOT allowed because they are not sealed and allow BBs to still hit your eyes!

Please tag the people that you know on the photos to introduce them to our airsoft community. I do have the full-resolution versions (3504x2336 pixels) available upon request, however you must

    a) send me a link of that photo for identification and
    b) tag that person (yourself or someone you know) in the photo.

Especially point b) is important to me: No tagging, no full-res photo. Very simple... ;)

    Thank you -- and enjoy!

    Happy holidays!!!

whats up with this sniper certifacation requirment? do i have to take a class if my guns over 400 or is it just saying that i have to certify online

    December 20, 2013

    • LoneWolf62798003 [.

For actual sniper rifles that shoot over 400fps, you must attend a course in person and perform tasks which prove you know what 100ft looks like, prove you know how not to shoot inside those 100ft, and prove you can shoot proficiently enough to be worth having such a rifle.

Last I time I heard there in no sniper qual currently in effect unless fish sees that there is a problem with a lot guys not knowing their engagement distances with their gun that shoots over 400 fps

      1 · December 20, 2013

    • LoneWolf62798003 [.

Honestly, I thought it was hinted already that the field has very bad terrain for snipers. Half of it is urban, half of it is a light forest that's too compact for snipers to comfortably engage with their limitations. AEG's are quite honestly the better way to go

    December 19, 2013

    • Brayden M.

if its a metal orange tip, and the orange tip is painted on, use some Jasco paint/epoxy remover and a steel brush on it. Works like a charm, and looks better than spraying on black. If its a plastic, just disregard anything i said.

Goggles: If anyone needs some, I have two woven mesh goggles I picked up from Sir Plus I am willing to sell. One is full face, the other is goggle only. These are woven mesh, not perforated steel like Bitter End sells. I have never had a BB break and penetrate either, but I have had paint blow off the inside of the perforated steel when impacted by a BB at close range and get in my eye. As a player looking to play in more states than Washington, I am discovering regular Lexan lenses in a paintball mask or mil-spec like goggles and mesh lowers are required or highly recommended. Looks like a combination of OpDrops and mini fans will keep my Lexan goggles and glasses under them fog free. Remember as a human, eyes are critical, hearing is a really good idea, and teeth are really expensive.

The grass is a bad place to park this time of year. I'm not worried about the turf damage as much as cars getting stuck. So park on the wood chips or along the driveway. With the chance of rain Saturday, there are three 8' by 8' covered shacks with a table inside that hardly get used. They are on the east side of the break area, south end of "Charley 3".....see pdf map:

My Airsoft insurance requires full face masks for those under 18 yo. Shooting / safety glasses are not allowed. I sell decent used Paintball masks suitable for Airsoft, they are $15 each. Or you can rent them for $5. You can get bad facial scars or broken teeth from airsoft BB's.
