Hi all. There is no snow at the original destination. But there is plenty on Mt. Rainier. If we can make to the top/ paradise... Then we are lucky. If not, we are still lucky because we snowshoe on trails starting at Longmire. So come and have good time. We will all meet at Ravenna. The group is to big to keep track of and cell connection stops at eatonville.
But this destination is scenic and perfect for beginners.
You have to be able to walk 4 miles easily. Snowshoes will change your gate and makes it more of an exercise.
If you have never had any snowshoe experience this would be the hike for you.
If you would like to hone your basic skills and/or endurance... come along. But keep in mind that the pace is slow. If you cannot snowshoe at a slow pace, wait for a more advanced event.
Round-trip measures 4 miles and has an elevation gain of only 250 feet. If we are ambitious, we can continue on through the woods towards the ice cave. This will add 3 extra mile to the roundtrip, making it 7 miles.
