Live in Kirkland, so anywhere within an hour or two's reach (or overnight) where there's no avalanche danger--that scares the beejeebers out of me!
I've had plantar faciitis this year and some other problems (tore my MCL a year ago and had to be careful), but we love to get out whenever possible. This summer we hiked several times (we are retired so can go during the week), and I want to get into better shape. I have showshoes and all the cold-weather gear.
I love the snow and my husband doesn't, I'm 61 and in decent shape but have had some sore foot issues of late so need to start easy. Did it long ago and want to do more, am VERY social, and I'd need to start with easy stuff and no avalanche danger.
