Announcing a new Meetup for The Seattle Snowshoeing Meetup Group!

What: Mowich Lake/Spray Falls

When: December 16,[masked]:30 AM

Eastgate Park and Ride
14200 SE Eastgate W
Bellevue, WA 98007

Yes, you saw right......4:30AM meet time. This early for several reasons. The first being that since it is mid week we would beat traffic down to Rainier, next....due to the length of the hike/snowshoe(possible) it will give us time to hike the road to Mowich Lake and get to the waterfall. The drive down will take 2hrs or so.The hike along the road is 4miles and then another mile or so to the falls once we get to the lake. The ranger tells me there is 1-2 feet of snow at the lake. So we may encounter snow along the road to the lake.

What to bring.....
Headlamp!!!!(we may be starting off in the dark until about 7am)
YakTrax or Microspikes(in case there isn't enough snow for snowshoes we'll still have traction on ice if need be)
No cotton!!
Plenty of water(I usually pack 3ltrs)
Plenty of layers since we'll warm up on the hike and cool off taking pics and eating.

Meet on the West side(Seattle side) of parking structure on the North(Canada) end.
