I always enjoy walking around Orange. It was fun to see the decorations for fall and Halloween and to have lunch with two of the group.

Sorry for the last minute cancellation. I had hoped my cold would be gone but I'm still snuffling and disgusting. Looking forward to next time.

Where do we meet up at?

William -- I will send the exact location the night before, alone with my cell number, to all those who RSVPed yes, but it will probably be right in the middle of the circle.

Game on. Look forward to meeting you guys Sunday. I go through downtown 5 times a week and I'm confident you'll show me things I pass without observing.

I might go to this. What is a good walk around lens for this even? I only want to take one. Thanks

It really depends on your vision for your images. Are you into showing a large scene, or tight details. Do you like to stand back, or approach your subjects, closely.

Once you make those decisions, we would then need to know what camera you intend to use: Is it a dSLR? Full frame or crop factor? Micro 4/3?

For example, if you wanted a good medium distance lens, a so-called 'standard' 50mm lens, on a full-frame camera might be just what you want. However, if you put that same lens on a body with a crop factor of 1.5, you now have a good 'portrait' lens, but you will have to get much further back, from your subject, to capture a similar image as you would get from using it on a full frame body.

Finally, what lenses are available to you?

I have a Canon 60D and a full frame Canon 5d mark 2. I want to do some black and white street photography. I was thinking maybe my Canon 85mm 1.8 or canon 40mm pancake. I also have the 50mm 1.4. I really like primes. I've been out of the loop for awhile just over a year now suffering bone on bone painful arthritis in my right wrist (right-handed) I need surgery but for now getting by with a cortisone and novocaine injection. I've never done any street photography and wanted to try it but wanted to see what you thought the best setup would be for this event. I mainly shoot portraits of my dog and family but wanted to try something new. Thanks for all your input. I appreciate it :)

The $2.00 is explained in the last two paragraphs, in this discussion board post:

Certainly, carpooling is encouraged if there are several attendees going from the same area.

Hi there. What does the $2.00 cover? Are we car pooling?
