It’s almost been a month since I’ve been back from South America, thanks so much for your patience. In the last 27 days I’ve sold a home, obtained a new apartment, helped my mom prepare for a garage sale in Arizona so she could sell her home, dealt with not one, but two identify theft situations, and started two consulting jobs! Whew! Now I’m ready to start planning some new events for our meetup. Please start looking for some old favorite events (Spring is here), some festivals and hopefully some new and unique events.
As some of you know, in addition to photography, my passion is a non-profit I started a couple of years ago, Creating Partnerships for Progress. I try to not take advantage of my position in this meetup to solicit from the members for this organization, but know that many of you are interested in the work we do and are interested. This year, in July, we are building a library in Cambodia. The total cost of the library is only $15,000. Imagine, for such a small amount of money, we will be providing books to a population who has little to no access to books. The library will serve 25 communities and over 10,000 people. If anyone is interested in learning more about the project, making a donation, or volunteering to help with the build, please visit the website at www.creatingpartnerships.org. Also, I'm happy to accept donations at one of our events. Additionally, if you are interested in donating books (reference, children’s books, nature books), I will be happy to take them.
I’m excited to see my friends again in the coming months. I promise, I won’t be heading out again for five months at a time.
Take care and see you soon,
