Poly Pool Party

GREAT NEWS, the Southern California Polyamory Meetup Group has been invited to join Active Polyamory (http://www.meetup.com/active-polyamory/) for a pool party in Brentwood once again. This will be a great evening around a warm swimming pool and plenty of good conversation. Here is the note I received from Krishna and Angel:

Hi All,

We're excited to have another meetup--same place as the last one (our place in Brentwood).

The pool will be warm and once again clothing optional (and the jacuzzi HOT).

Last time we had about 55-70 attendees and we hope to easily top that this time.

There will have a discussion led by Terry Brussel-Gibbons, Phd, CCHt The need for Family is one reason many of us got into polyamory and definitely why we join groups like Live the Dream, Family Synergy and the Active Poly Meet Up. Sure we enjoy sex, but Family is something more than that. We'll talk about the different kinds of relationships available in this life style -- just friends, “friends with benefits” , water brothers with whom one may have a life time commitment, boy/girl friend, long distance lover ( for over 30 years in some cases!), primary and secondary partners--life partners in an open committed relationship. What do these terms mean? How do those meanings or the misunderstanding of them affect how you relate to those close to you? We'll use real life examples and some from such science fiction books as Heinlein's Time Enough for Love (Tertius Colony Family) Spider Robinson's Calahan series, Poul Anderson's The Avatar and Robert Rimmer's Proposition 31. No, you don't have to have read any of these books to participate! Discussion: 6PM-7:30PM
followed by the party which will go on to the wee hours...

Expect warm open-hearted (and minded) people from all walks of life having great conversations and just hanging out.

Kindly bring your own drinks and we'll supply dinner. Anyone know how to work a barbecue?

Smile,
Krishna and Angel

Please call them to RSVP in addition to RSVP'ing on this site so we can get an accurate count of how many will be there. Krishna and Angel's Telephone number is[masked]

Please mention if you are RSVP'ing on both meetup groups, so we do not count you twice :-) We ask a few things of you:

1) Please change your RSVP to "no" if you cannot make it so we don't purchase too much food.

2) Please bring your own drinks if you want to drink anything.

3) Please no children this time as we don't have a lifeguard nor a pool gate and we are not set up for kids.

Park and the street and bring a smile!

I will allow Maybe's for now, but please update your RSVP within 48 hours of the meetup. I hope to see everyone there!

I had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing/meeting new people. Though, I wish a couple of the regulars had been there, it was still a blast.

Thanks to Krishna and Angel for the wonderful party! The information session was extremely helpful. The whole evening was eye opening and we enjoyed sharing our thoughts and getting to know some of the members of the group. Many were so nice to share their life experiences with us and gave us some wonderful advice. It is so refreshing to meet such a wonderful group of people, we left with a feeling of inner balance, clarity and peace after many of our questions were answered.

I had to leave early so missed the pool! Found the talk interesting and met some great people and the food was lovely. Next time I'll not plan to attend something else after so I can relax more.

Terry's presentation + discussion was quite professional + informative, the food was diverse + scrumptious, and the big crowd was basically well-behaved. ;-) In time, IMHO the group dynamic will enable the cream of the crop to rise to the top!

Tom and Angel are incredible hosts. The initial meeting was extremely useful. The people I met were not just fun, but people I look forward to knowing as friends.

We have a member from Tustin/Orange County who needs a ride. If you are willing to give him a ride, please send a message to Kundan. http://www.meetup.com/SoCal-Polyamory/members/3297742/
