    •  Any place in Newport will get a great crowd. It may be more expensive, but there will be more people to pay. Cosmology is such an exciting field now any discussions on it are bound to be interesting, but having a gifted UCI prof. talk about the latest work in Dark Matter was great. I'd also like to hear more about String Theory, especially as CERN is gearing up. It was nice to meet you Brian.

Started a little basic but that was good to get everyone on the same page. The speaker was excellent and handled every question very well. He was very knowledgeable AND he was able to relate that knowledge to this general crowd. The questions asked were top notch - I really enjoyed my first meetup with Science Cafe!!
    •  Program went smoothly and there were lots of questions. Everyone was real excited to be able to ask their dark matter questions.
    •  The speaker was great. His enthusiasm and his knowledge was obviouis. He was a very understandable speaker. I think that speakers should definately keep their talks "understandable," but I don't think they should avoid the tech so much like it was the plague. Even if I might not completely understand a complex explanation, I would really enjoy hearing it (and not being so "protected" from advanced topics). I had a very good time, and I'm looking forward to attending other in the future. Thanks again. Larry Atherton
    •  I found the video and talk extremely interesting and informative. It makes me want to live for another 30 or 40 years just to find out more about our universe and its makeup.
