Announcing a new Meetup for SoCal Science Caf?!

What: Einstein's Cosmic Messengers

University of Southern California performance of "Einstein's Cosmic Messengers," the multimedia show about gravitational waves that was produced by Caltech's Michele Vallisneri and composer-musician Andrea Centazzo.

Andrea plays contemporary percussions and sampled sounds in front of synchronized projected astronomical and astrophysical animations and images. You can see a demo at

The performance will be followed by a short panel discussion about the making of the show and about gravitational waves, featuring Centazzo, USC/Caltech cosmologist Elena Pierpaoli, myself, and moderated by USC journalism professor KC Cole.

The event will take place at 8pm, on Fri Oct 22, in USC's Bovard Auditorium.
