BLUES FOR A RED PLANET
Is there life on Mars? Dr. Sagan takes viewers on a tour of the red planet first through the eyes of early science fiction authors, and then the eyes of two Viking spacecrafts that have sent thousands of pictures of the stunning Martian landscape back to Earth since 1976. Recent photos and discoveries will be presented by Scott Maxwell of the Jet Propulsion Laboratories.
Scott Maxwell is the Mars Rover Driver Team Lead for the Mars Exploration Rover Project, which is now seven and a half years into its 90-day mission of driving the Spirit and Opportunity rovers around Mars. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His most recent book is entitled Linux Core Kernel Commentary .
Scott will have a small scale Rover to demonstrate its agility. Here's your chance to see the Rover in action and watch as it climbs over people!
