"A blessing for the writers among us: May all your dead ends be beautiful"- Linford Detweiler
I am very selective about group membership, so please take a moment to read the description and fill out all of the profile questions.
We are a FREE screenwriting critique group that offers peer critique and support for independent screenwriters. However, before joining, note that I only accept submissions for critique that are structured and formatted properly. This is not a class. While we will be happy to offer constructive criticism on treatments and outlines, writers submitting pages must exhibit a firm grasp of basic screenwriting technique, structure and an understanding of narrative development.
A typical meeting consists of 30 - 45 minutes of socializing, 1 - 2 hours of critique. We read 10 - 25 pages at a time, depending on the number of submissions. We will conduct a table read at the author's request, however, participants are expected to have read and annotated submissions in advance of the meeting.
I am open to facilitating short film production. All interested parties should attend the the screenwriters' meeting and participate in regular critique. I expect that anyone wishing to participate in a group short film project will have prior experience with short film production and possess their own filmmaking equipment. Any film production operating under the banner of this group must be willing to abide by union rules and applicable labor laws.
I do not pass along solicitations for private classes, workshops, consultant services, film festivals, screenings or other events or services to my members, nor do I endorse any of the above. I do not support or endorse any pitch festivals. I will not allow solicitation of any kind at any of the critique meetings.
