Introduction

Like many of us, I'm a screenwriter with a day job. I have a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in media and a certificate in screenwriting.

What is your writing or filmmaking background?

Paranoia Feature Script Film Festival Finalist in 2009. I am currently trying to finish an original TV pilot spec for some late contest deadlines this year.

Are there any writers or filmmakers that have had an influence on you?

I wouldn't say I have a favorite author or screenwriter, but I have definitely been influenced by many of the groundbreaking television shows in the 90's and 2000's. Joss Whedon is probably my biggest influence in terms of reconsidering what it means to be a "genre" television show, and I certainly took a lot of cues about how to play with dialogue from shows like Buffy and Firefly.

What are some of your favorite movies and/or TV shows?

Since I'm working on TV scripts right now, I'll list some of my favorite shows (that are currently on and haven't yet been cancelled): Breaking Bad, Dexter, Luther, Justified, Damages, Sherlock, True Blood, Hung, The Big C, Fringe, 30 Rock, Glee, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Game of Thrones(!).

    Hi Leslie, how's everything going? When's the next meeting, I would like to possibly attend? No more Denny's? How about Newport Beach, maybe American Legion Hall at Lido Bridge if you know any veterans, right off PCH and they have a private banquet room (if you eat or drink, price is really right)
