West Coast Swing is a form of swing dancing that is danced in a slot to moderate tempo blues and R&B and in recent times, contemporary music. It is the smother, sexier version of the swing dance family. Its basic patterns are both 6 and 8 beats, but those patterns can be varied by +/- 2 beat increments. It is characteristically highly musical and can adopt many nuances from other forms of dance. This makes West Coast Swing a highly versatile dance form.

I wish we could go as we hate to miss but we have an important meeting that we must attend. We are on the board. Then on 3/21 we have to attend a "meet and greet" we are hosting with another non profit for which we sit on the board as well. Sorry. We'll be back the following week. We went last night (Friday) to see the "pros" dance and we were mesmerized. Can't wait to be able to do some of the fabulous moves. You guys rock. Ray is a great teacher and Steven, the event host is patient and fun. See you on the 28th.
