What boats do you own / use most often?

An older Klepper take apart 2-person kayak A servelor inflatable canoe. A 23 foot Columbia sailboat. An 8 foot fiberblass dingy. A 10 foot fiberglass dingy. Plans are to buy a sailboat around 38 to 43 feet long in two years to outfit to live on year round. Sail from LA to: Panama, San Blas Islands in Panama, Belize, Texas, Florida Keys, Cuba, Bermuda, Bahamas, Florida & up Intercoastal waterway to New York, Maine, Canada, New Foundland to Ireland (1700 miles). From there depends on if warm or cold. If warm visit Holland, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania (spelling) Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland. Start exploring the 3,000 miles of navigation rivers and canals of Europe (EU) in France, Holland Belgium and Germany. I expect there are hundreds of rivers and small waterways a canoe or kayak can explore. Even one Swiss city has a river port in their lowlands where barges used to haul goods into. Sweden has two canals around 130 miles long great for canoes/kayaks in summer.

How many years have you been a WW Boat Owner? (Approx)

I joined WW Boat Owner 10/13/2011 and have been sailing and rowing rowboats for over 25 years. I'm interested in meeting people that want to canoe and kayak places I travel to to visit. After tired of EU exploring the Caribbean, South America and Central Ameica sounds like fun. Then sail off to explore Pacific Islands. I lived in Japan for 18 months and want to return again. But this time sail around the island to explore more of rural Japan this time. But speak Japanese this time. If we visit China, can I learn their language also? I don't know if learning Mandarin and Cantonese is practical or not but may learn a little of the language used less. But little or nothing of Tiwanese Chinese. I want to learn as much French, Spanish and German as possible after living there two or more years. But don't know how fluent that will be. I hope to be fluent for casual conversation. Anyone want to travel with me? But no flakes please.

Where do you like to boat?

Favorites are: Santa Cruz Island Alimitos Bay Long Beach Newport Beach Harbor - one of the most beautiful in California Huntington Harbor Lake Tahoe Kern River upper - try a Basque food establishment in or near Bakersfield one night for a change Catalina Island during the week in summer or any day in winter Not visited yet: Read of a couple kayaking Mississippi River from Montana to New Orleans in 3 months. One man rowed a rowboat in three months. Curious to know if trip is possible in 30 days in a 20 foot catamaran sailboat? Seattle, Washington Has thousands of miles of waterways, rivers curious to see floating homes on logs. Have read where floating home owners help each other replace waterlogged logs under homes. Sweden has 14,000 islands with only around 100 inhabited - Stockholm is partly on 9 islands Greece has 1,000 and 1,500 islands with around 100 inhabited San Juan Islands, Canada look spectacular Orca Islands, Canada Vancouver, Canada Alaska?

Hello. I taught sailing in college professionally. I took a canoe/kayak class & after class paddled the lower Kern River with a classmate and had a blast. I play beach volleyball about 45 Sundays a year in Santa Monica & welcome beginners.
