It's a "supermoon" this night.
Let's jump in our kayaks and view it from the water.
This paddle is geared for those already WITH a kayak and are comfortable leaving the harbor IN THE DARK. If you do not have a kayak AND you have NOT left the harbor, then this paddle is probably not for you.
However, there is another paddle in the harbor for you if that is the case. The Newport Aquatic Center (the NAC) is hosting just such a paddle at the same date and time. They paddle around Back Bay, which is GORGEOUS in the moonlight. You can also rent a kayak for $35. (Or just tag along if you have your own.)

Our paddle will meet at Coast Guard Beach at 6:30 pm.
Depart at 7:00 pm. Return 9 to 10pm.
We will leave the harbor and go south/east towards Laguna as conditions allow.
You MUST HAVE:
- YOUR OWN KAYAK (see the INSIDE HARBOR event to rent a kayak)
- a white light on your deck or stern. Minimum is a flashlight lashed to your deck. Make sure the batteries work. Bring a headlamp if you have one. "Glow sticks only" don't really count as a proper light. But bring them if you have them.
- you must be wearing a PFD if you want to join us
