Moonlit Ocean and OR Harbor Paddle

Let's meet for a moonlit social paddle. We'll head out to the ocean for a bit, as conditions allow, and then back in to the harbor.

***NOTE:  Feel free to join for just 1/2 of the paddle!

► MODERATE PACED OCEAN LOOP: Ocean half will be around 5.5 miles at a moderate-fast pace (please be able to paddle ~3mph, I recommend a longer kayak of around 14'+ to be able to keep this pace or- feel free to hang behind us at your own pace- contact me with questions!).  Launch from your favorite spot and meet on the water at Coast Guard Beach, floating and ready to go at 4:00pm.

Anticipated route: out to the bell buoy, north to the Balboa Pier and back.

► SLOWER PACED HARBOR LOOP: The Harbor loop will be half will approx 2.5 miles, at a slow/beginner/smaller kayak friendly pace.  If you want to join for Harbor only, meet on the water at Coast Guard Beach, floating and ready to go at 6:00 pm,  and we'll swing by for you on the way back!!

Anticipated route: loop around Balboa island.

For the Paddle:

• BYO Boat. Sorry, no rentals.

• Don't forget to dress in warm/windproof layers,

• Harbor Patrol requires you carry a headlamp or flashlight.

• get there at least 30-60 minutes early to park and unload

• **SUNGLASSES RECOMMENDED** - for the 'paddle into the sunset' part

Please RSVP - Subject to cancel/change. Routes subject to change according to the whims of the group :D
► We are kayak buddies, not guides.  Be responsible for your own safety.
►Tacos after?  Highly likely!!  I suggest: Taco Mesa Costa Mesa 647 W. 19th Street

Another great night! No wind, some fun waves, big moon, and of course beer afterwards :)
Thanks for coming out every one!

I cross-posted on CKF, and there are 6 more scheduled to join us. 4 for the ocean paddle, 2 for harbor loop.

Lenora passed 100 meetups. Is there a medal?

      All 360 people aren't paying?

I think Lenora can answer this better, but I don't think there is many who pay. Our budget is showing $79.90. We need more memberships paid so we can buy that blue club house in New port Beach harbor.

PS: If a slower 'ocean group' wants to split off and go at a slower pace behind us, you're welcome to do that. Please post here in interested.
