I have two Wilderness Systems Kayaks. One cute little old-school Wilderness Systems Piccolo that I use the most. It was originally designed as a creek/recreation boat for children and small women...I love it for it's easy car topping, surfing ability, and the fact that it fits me like a glove. I've now also got a beautiful Wilderness Systems Tsunami 120 that my husband surprised me with for my birthday...it's my luxury kayak...great for long days on the water. I gave my really old whitewater boat to a friend that's been traveling across the county in his van hitting all the whitewater competitions.
Used to be a guide on lakes and streams in the Ozarks...I am a Naturalist/kayak guide for Newport Bay Conservancy. I travel solo 99% of the time now (unless I am guiding) so I make sure not to get in over my head and rarely do anymore surf launches/landings...havent needed to use my roll in over 8 years when I stopped doing whitewater...haven't practiced in about 5...
Locally, Upper Newport Bay and along the coast from Newport to Laguna...off shore, Santa Cruz and Anacapa Island...My favorite Central Coast and NorCal launching locations included Spooner Cove near Moro Bay, and Whalers Cove in Point Lobos.
Hi there! If there is anything you'd like to know about me please feel free to ask! :)
