WordPress workers unite! Bring your laptops, coffee, notebooks, and something to work on (a project, something you'd like to learn, an experiment you'd like to try, etc)
Feel free to bring friends, coworkers, your mentor, your employees, or anyone at all along with you. We'll kick off each morning with a quick standup to introduce ourselves and talk about what we'll be working on and what we might need help with. Get help with something you're stuck on or jump in to help someone else where they're stuck. Collaborate with other WordPress peeps on a project. Or just enjoy being and working around other WordPress nerds for a few hours. :-)
We won't be serving food, but you are welcome to bring your own brown bag lunch, or visit one of the local eateries - there's no shortage of options!
Please Note: This is a coworking event. There will not be presentations or workshops and there will not be a Happiness Bar where you should expect one-on-one support or consulting. The purpose of this event is to come with your own work to be done and work in the company of other WordPress designers/developers/users who will be able to answer quick questions or engage in watercooler-type chats throughout the day, much as you'd expect in a typical office workplace. Keep in mind that everyone will be bringing their own work to be done, and we need to respectful of each others' time, energy, and attention.
This is a very nice discount off the usual 1-day coworking fee of $35 at Blankspaces Downtown. Huge thanks going out to Blankspaces for allowing us to offer this special deal.
Additionally, those who are already paying members of Blankspaces Downtown and those who pay monthly dues to SoCal WP won't be charged any additional fee for attending this coworking day.
You may pay online by credit/debit card in advance of the meetup or pay the day of. At the venue we'll accept cash or credit/debit card.
While Blankspaces DTLA's address is on Broadway, you'll actually find the entrance at the back of the building. There is no entrance on Broadway. Instead, you'll need to enter through the alley that runs from 5th to 6th street, between Hill and Broadway. You'll find the door in about the middle of the block - it's well marked. There is a call box with instructions for unlocking the door. Once you're inside, take the elevator (or the stairs if you're feeling energetic) up to the 4th floor to find us.
The good news is that there is no shortage of public parking lots downtown. There are probably at least 20 different lots within a few of blocks of Blankspaces. The bad news is they can be quite pricey.

But, wait! There's more. Blankspaces is less than 1 block from the Red Line/Purple Line Pershing Square station. Easy to walk, and no downtown parking hassles. Do yourself a favor and take public transportation, folks.
If you don't live near a Metro station, there are several stops along both the red and purple lines with low cost or free park and ride lots - just drive to the one nearest you and leave your car there, then hop on the train. Or be super duper eco fitness kid and ride your bike to the nearest station.
