**NO REFUNDS. Due to the number of no shows at the previous events we are forced to require a non-refundable up front payment for all participants. If you sign up and can not make it you are free to transfer your spot to another person and have them reimburse you for the cost. These fees go toward helping Panther Ridge continue their efforts to help these beautiful animals.**
We will be meeting at 10am, and the tour is limited to a maximum of 15 people. The cost is $38/pp via PayPal when you RSVP. This is a non-refundable donation. To make sure that Panther Ridge receives the full donation we had to raise the price by $3.00 to offset the PayPal fees charged. This is still a tax-deductible donation to a wonderful cause.
2012 was a difficult year for Panther Ridge with the loss of a few cats. It's important to remember that this is a sanctuary for cats, and for many of them it is an opportunity to live out their lives in a happy, healthy environment. Panther Ridge cares for all the medical needs of these magnificent cats. There are a few new additions as well to Panther Ridge joining some of our favorite feline entertainers like Bella, Amos, Ming and Suki.
Panther Ridge offers this tour to us at a great discount, and every no-show is donation money they lose. For those of you that have visited Panther Ridge in the past, you know hat Judy works with the animals assisting us in getting those great shots. (Not that she has to do much, these cats are very photogenic) The facility still offers the best means to get up close and person with some magnificent big cats. Here is a link to a map from google with directions from 441 and Lake Worth Road.
DIRECTIONS Click here for a map. There will be a sign outside saying "Panther Ridge".
PLEASE PARK OUTSIDE THE GATE: Please park on the grass outside the gate area. Although the gate will be closed, you just need to slide it open to enter the facility. Please close the gate after you enter. The address is 14755 Palm Beach Point Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414 (The entrance is actually on S. Road. If your GPS takes you down Palm Beach Point, continue to S. Rd, and then go North. It will be directly on your right.
For the most part a zoom lens is best. You will be shooting through chain link fencing. Monopods and Tripods are permitted. Flashes can be used, unless it begins to agitate the animals.
Some people may want to bring bug spray, especially if it has rained recently. Contact me (Dan Bodenstein) through meetup.com if you have any questions.
