Panther Ridge Meetup 4

**NO REFUNDS. Due to the number of no shows at the previous events we are forced to require a non-refundable up front payment for all participants. If you sign up and can not make it you are free to transfer your spot to another person and have them reimburse you for the cost. These fees go toward helping Panther Ridge continue their efforts to help these beautiful animals.**

We will be meeting at 10am, and the tour is limited to a maximum of 15 people. The cost is $38/pp via PayPal when you RSVP. This is a non-refundable donation. To make sure that Panther Ridge receives the full donation we had to raise the price by $3.00 to offset the PayPal fees charged. This is still a tax-deductible donation to a wonderful cause.

2012 was a difficult year for Panther Ridge with the loss of a few cats. It's important to remember that this is a sanctuary for cats, and for many of them it is an opportunity to live out their lives in a happy, healthy environment. Panther Ridge cares for all the medical needs of these magnificent cats. There are a few new additions as well to Panther Ridge joining some of our favorite feline entertainers like Bella, Amos, Ming and Suki.

Panther Ridge offers this tour to us at a great discount, and every no-show is donation money they lose. For those of you that have visited Panther Ridge in the past, you know hat Judy works with the animals assisting us in getting those great shots. (Not that she has to do much, these cats are very photogenic) The facility still offers the best means to get up close and person with some magnificent big cats. Here is a link to a map from google with directions from 441 and Lake Worth Road.

DIRECTIONS Click here for a map. There will be a sign outside saying "Panther Ridge".

PLEASE PARK OUTSIDE THE GATE: Please park on the grass outside the gate area. Although the gate will be closed, you just need to slide it open to enter the facility. Please close the gate after you enter. The address is 14755 Palm Beach Point Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414 (The entrance is actually on S. Road. If your GPS takes you down Palm Beach Point, continue to S. Rd, and then go North. It will be directly on your right.

Equipment:

For the most part a zoom lens is best. You will be shooting through chain link fencing. Monopods and Tripods are permitted. Flashes can be used, unless it begins to agitate the animals.

Additional Info
Some people may want to bring bug spray, especially if it has rained recently. Contact me (Dan Bodenstein) through meetup.com if you have any questions.

curious, not sure what our schedule is on our next trip. If we are available on the 5th can we just show up and pay the fee on the spot?

This was a great experience for my first meetup. The staff was great, as were the beautiful cats.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday! The specific directions are as follows: *Take the Turnpike or 441/SR7 to Lake Worth Road and head west.
*Take Lake Worth Road until it ends at S. Shore Road. I believe there is now a stop light here.
*Turn left (south) onto S Shore Road.
*Turn right at the stop sign at 50th Street.
*50th Street curves to right and turns into South Road.
*Stay on South Road until you reach the stop sign. Go stratight at this stop sign, even though your GPS will tell you to turn right onto Palm Beach Point Blvd.
*The entrance gate to Panther Ridge will be just thru this stop sign on your right hand side.
*Please park on the grass OUTSIDE the gate. Slide the gate open to walk in to the facility and please CLOSE THE GATE behind you.
**My cell is[masked] should there be an issue/question or you get lost, please call or text me. Thanks!

I have other directions. Do you work there?

      April 7, 2013

    • Jules M.

No I don't work there, but have visited about 10 times. If you have other directions that is fine, but park on the road on the west side outside the gate. Thanks.

Are the cats caged or are they out roaming? Also how long will we be there?

    February 24, 2013

    • Jules M.

All are caged. We will be shooting through the fencing, and Judy will do her best to position the cats appropriately. I usually use a long lens, sometimes on manual, to blur out the fencing. You still will get great shots. Check out the photos from previous meet ups to see others photos.

Also we will usually be there about 3 hours. Most times from 10-1pm.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
