Canon Explorer of Light - George Lepp One Day Seminar

South Florida Nature and Wildlife Photography Meetup Group would like to welcome George Lepp to town. We're please to say that George, one of Canon's Explore's of Light, will be doing a day long seminar at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) April 24th, 2010. This day long event will start promptly at 9:00am and run until 4:00-4:30pm.
George is widely considered one the world's best nature photographers. His gigarama's, pano's and macro pano's are innovative and inspiring. You can learn all about George by visiting his official site and the pages at Canons site. Here are the links:

About the location:
The Live Oak Pavilion at FAU is located behind the Student Union building. Park in front of the Student Union and walk through it to the pavilion. The Live Oak rooms will be on your right when you come through. There are vending machines, a school convenience store and small restaurant that will open at noon right there. If you want something else there is strip mall on the south side of Glades with restaurants and a Whole Foods market.

ElyseI liked George Lepp...great presenter, however...wasn
't thrilled with the topics, especially all the video stuff. Liked panorama and hdr demo. Also, too long to sit..would have had 1 hour lunch and shortened it till 3 pm in general. Long day.

He showed and explained many useful photography techniques he uses, both, shooting and processing images, and shared some of the newest techniques he uses in Photography and camera video recording. MARCUS SMITHI'm not exactly sure what I was expecting from this workshop but I'd have to say that what was presented before the lunch break did not interest me enough to return after lunch. Although Mr. Lepp is a fine speaker and communicates enthusiasm for what he is doing, I thought the material was rather basic. As I am not a heavy Photoshop user, much of the demos on PS technique would, in my opinion, have been better suited for a PS workshop,which, Mr. Lepp said at the begining, this would not be. Logistcally, it was hard to see due to the flat seating arrangement and poor quality of the projection system. Maybe turning off a few other lights and laterally staggering the chairs would have improved on this aspect.
On the other hand, I think its great that there is enough support and interest in the Meetup Group itself to be able to bring this kind of event to town and I enjoyed meeting a few new folks and the generally fun and friendly atmosphere and I look forward to future events .

Janet RobinsonI learned a lot about digital photography and photoshop. It is interesting to see how a pro defines his workflow. I also enjoyed learning about HDR and I plan to incorporate some of his ideas into upcoming shoots.

Mary LouGeorge Lepp's Canon Explorer of Light One Day Seminar was outstanding. He kept a schedule to cover what he wanted to cover during the day. He is very professonal, and visited with us during the breaks. I like his teaching very much. We can understand what he is teaching, therefore, helps us improve our passion of photography. I learned a lot, and he is very knowledgeable and is willing to share and teach others so we can improve our skills. I am so glad I attended the seminar.
