Canon Explorer of Light - George Lepp One Day Seminar

South Florida Nature and Wildlife Photography Meetup Group would like to welcome George Lepp to town. We're please to say that George, one of Canon's Explore's of Light, will be doing a day long seminar at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) April 24th, 2010. This day long event will start promptly at 9:00am and run until 4:00-4:30pm.

George is widely considered one the world's best nature photographers. His gigarama's, pano's and macro pano's are innovative and inspiring. You can learn all about George by visiting his official site and the pages at Canons site. Here are the links:

And our sponsor:

George will be discussing a variety of photographic techniques to help us all capture better image from the start. This is an excellent opportunity to not only hear from but speak with one the most innovative and experienced photographers in our field. It doesn't matter what you shoot with, this absolutely one event you don't want to miss.

Download the Word doc "George Lepp-Capture the Possibilities" for more info about George and what he will be covering during this seminar from our Files page.

About the location:
The Live Oak Pavilion at FAU is located behind the Student Union building. Park in front of the Student Union and walk through it to the pavilion. The Live Oak rooms will be on your right when you come through. There are vending machines, a school convenience store and small restaurant that will open at noon right there. If you want something else there is strip mall on the south side of Glades with restaurants and a Whole Foods market.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

A terrific day with lots of new information.

I liked George Lepp...great presenter, however...wasn't thrilled with the topics, especially all the video stuff. Liked panorama and hdr demo. Also, too long to sit..would have had 1 hour lunch and shortened it till 3 pm in general. Long day. thanks for the great group meet...

I enjoyed it a lot. He is a great speaker. My only problem was I have a hard time sitting so long. We did get breaks which was great.
  • Veronica Valle
Very informative, motivating and well presented. George Lepp is at the top of the digital photography world, so many new techniques, software, and gadgets....Thanks for showing us where this road can lead to.
  • MICHAEL ALTHEIM
This seminar was very, very worthwhile. George Lepp has a tremendous knowledge of photography and composition as well as knowledge of photography related products. He conveyed this in a very interesting and informative way and I can't wait to get his new book that is about to be released.
  • Michael Klenetsky
Learned some great new, interesting types of photography such as time exposer. Found out things about photoshop and lightroom that I wasn't aware of.

It was a rare treat to attend a seminar with someone of George Lepp's caliber at such reasonable price. He showed and explained many useful photography techniques he uses, both, shooting and processing images, and shared some of the newest techniques he uses in Photography and camera video recording. Seeing his beautiful work was enlightening. Thanks to Mike Donahue and Elizabeth Martin for this great effort

Can't get any better than this! What a great event!

George is not only a fantastic photographer, but a truly exceptional teacher and lecturer. More knowledge was gained in this 6-hour session than in most week-long seminars, at a cost that was extremely reasonable.
  • Fred Rosenfeld
    Excellent presentation.......thanks for organizing!

Very informative. It was a privelege to be in the company of such a professional. George Lepp stays current through the ever moving photo technology.

This was an excellent meetup. George Lepp was very entertaining and would not hesitate to go to future meetings or lectures that he is involved in.

One of the most informative seminars I've ever attended ! BRAVO !!

I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting from this workshop but I'd have to say that what was presented before the lunch break did not interest me enough to return after lunch. Although Mr. Lepp is a fine speaker and communicates enthusiasm for what he is doing, I thought the material was rather basic. As I am not a heavy Photoshop user, much of the demos on PS technique would, in my opinion, have been better suited for a PS workshop, which, Mr. Lepp said at the begining, this would not be. Logistcally, it was hard to see due to the flat seating arrangement and poor quality of the projection system. Maybe turning off a few other lights and laterally staggering the chairs would have improved on this aspect. On the other hand, I think its great that there is enough support and interest in the Meetup Group itself to be able to bring this kind of event to town and I enjoyed meeting a few new folks and the generally fun and friendly atmosphere and I look forward to future events .

George is both a great photographer and a great teacher. He gave me ideas that I will be trying out for months to come.

It was very informative. I learned a lot about photography, post processing and toys to make the process more interesting (and costlier!). It was well done and very economical. George is engaging, informative and an amazing photographer. Thank you for making this available to me.

George was wonderful in his presentation and explanation of enhancing images.

I learned a lot about digital photography and photoshop. It is interesting to see how a pro defines his workflow. I also enjoyed learning about HDR and I plan to incorporate some of his ideas into upcoming shoots.

George Lepp's Canon Explorer of Light One Day Seminar was outstanding. He kept a schedule to cover what he wanted to cover during the day. He is very professonal, and visited with us during the breaks. I like his teaching very much. We can understand what he is teaching, therefore, helps us improve our passion of photography. I learned a lot, and he is very knowledgeable and is willing to share and teach others so we can improve our skills. I am so glad I attended the seminar. I look forward to another seminar in the future. Regards, Mary Lou McCurdy
