Fort Lauderdale Urban Ride

A quick, 20 mile romp around eastern Fort Lauderdale including Riverwalk, Las Olas, Bayview, Victoria Park, Rio Vista, 17th Street Bridge and Fort Lauderdale Beach. The route is primarily residential streets, but there are several areas where riding with traffic or in a bike lane is necessary.

This is a friendly and fun ride, but it is not a ride for folks who like to go slow, or those who aren't confident on their bikes. You'll be riding fast, at night, in an urban environment.

There are several extended sprints of riding 15+ mph and several short breaks for catching up. There are riders of various speeds in this group. Everyone wants to get a good workout, but we try not to leave anyone behind, try not to lose any newbies and try to fix all technical problems as a group.

We like to have an exciting, fast and safe ride and try to get back to the park by 9:00. EVERYONE RIDES AT THEIR OWN RISK.

Bike: Fat tires or skinny. Do what you wanna.

YOU MUST HAVE, AT LEAST, A BLINKY WHITE HEADLIGHT AND A BLINKY RED TAIL LIGHT TO AVOID BREAKING THE LAW. Helmet and lots of hydration, also a smart idea. Bring a spare tube and snack and extra stuff for your friends.

This sounds great! I'm a new rider and don't know how fat I typically ride but I think I do ok somewhere around 9-11 mph but I'm still new lol most I've rode here in Florida is 10.69 miles

if you’re not sure, but think you ride under 16 MPH, you might consider the wednesday night Bicihangeo. It’s a large slower ride that keeps about that pace, then challenge yourself with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (fast ride) and Thursday nights. you can always join any ride, and drop when you need or want to, the next night will be easier every time
