This community ride is a peaceful event.
As cyclists we live with the threat of an enormous amount of physical danger and brutality caused by others also using roads though they may not be capable of safe, responsible driving.
In addition, there are many people we share our cities with that will intentionally go out of their way to bring us more harm and hatred.
Please do your part to educate yourself and others. We do well to share local traffic laws not only with our like minded friends, but more importantly with those that are completely unaware that we have the same rights that anyone using streets does.
The largest monthly community ride to promote safe cycling and driving in our streets.
Fort Lauderdale Critical Mass is a once MONTHLY ride through Fort Lauderdale (and around the world) to celebrate and raise awareness for bicycles and all users of our roads. Cyclists of all ages, types, and experience levels are welcome. Critical Mass is a leaderless group. We are all responsible for our own safety.
We, are all of us on roads using them to get from one place to another for fun, and or necessity. This means cyclists, pedestrians, skaters, motorcycles, cars, etc.
In promoting awareness and safety hopefully less will be injured while on our streets. All are invited to participate in rides.
The link below will detail current bicycle traffic laws:http://floridabicycle.org/bicycle-traffic-law/ Ride safe and responsibly. Please take only one lane to allow for faster, larger, bone crushing vehicles to pass you by safely.
*Critical Mass is not an organization, it is only a global gathering of persons using the streets. *anyone displaying antisocial behavior towards other riders (online and in person) and endangering others is expressly uninvited from this group ride*
